WAI has taken diligent steps to do our part in protecting the health and well-being of our staff, clients, industry colleagues and the community at large. We are committed to providing a high level of service to you throughout this challenging time and are striving to minimize any disruptions.
We are constantly monitoring the advice from Health Canada, Ontario Health Agency, and Toronto Public Health. We will continue to follow the recommendations made by these public health experts, in order to ensure that we are following the best advice available to us.
We are open for business and provide the following for your reference:
How to get in contact with someone at our firm?
All our staff continue to be available by phone, email, or through online meeting platforms. Our phone numbers and email addresses have not changed. The majority of our staff are currently working remotely and are equipped with materials and software required to continue to their work. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about your project.
Will we be attending in-person meetings?
No, our staff will not be attending in-person meetings, in the interest of supporting the public health effort to contain the COVID-19 virus. We look forward to participating in these important meetings by phone or through online meeting platforms.
Will we be attending on-site construction meetings?
Our staff will consider the need to visit sites or attend on-site construction meetings on case-by- case basis. We respect our client’s construction schedules and will do everything prudent to ensure schedules can remain on track. Photos and videos of site conditions for review are encouraged in lieu of in-person inspection, where appropriate.
What about Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) hearings?
The LPAT has directed that all activities not just hearings have been suspended until after June 30, 2020. The Tribunal has not yet made an attempt to reschedule.
What about planning application submissions?
As permitted by municipalities, we will be continuing to make application submissions to the best of our ability and will be making use of electronic submission processes offered by municipalities. As the situation is expected to change over the coming week(s), we will be updating our clients on an individual basis regarding submissions and re-submissions.
What about Community Consultation meetings?
We are continuing to communicate with municipal staff to understand the direction that they are taking with respect to consultation meetings; and will update our clients on an individual basis.
What about Council and Committee of Council meetings?
We are continuing to communicate with municipal staff to understand the direction that they are taking with respect to Council/Committee meetings; and will update our clients on an individual basis.
WAI appreciates your patience and understanding during this unexpected and unprecedented situation. We truly hope everyone is well and we look forward to continuing to work together.
Sincerely,
The Management Team
